Women’s Caftans

Caftans or kaftan, is a loose, brightly colored garment with mid-length or full-length sleeves. Fabrics range from lightweight textiles for the summer months to richer velvets and brocades. Traditionally made with silk or cotton, caftans are frequently adorned with colorful patterns, and many individuals wear them with a coordinating belt or sash. This type of clothing is very similar to a robe, although it is typically associated with Middle Eastern cultures

Caftans Fashion

While many consider the caftan to be timeless, it experienced a surge of popularity in the West during the 1970s and has made appearances on fashion pages in recent years. Caftans are popular in Morocco, where they are often worn for special occasions such as weddings. Moroccan caftans are luxurious and often hand-made and adorned with lace or complicated patterns of embroidery.

The caftan can be a versatile addition to any wardrobe. It can be worn belted and paired with heels for a dinner out, over leggings and sandals for a day of sightseeing, or worn at home as a dramatic and unusual garment for the hostess of a soiree.

When caftans are made of sun protection material so that they can be worn on the beach, they are essentially a cover-up designed to protect the skin while the wearer is not in the water. Both men and women wear kaftans, which are also very popular with every age group. After all, gorgeous caftans that appeal to the fashion savvy, being sun smart has never looked this good!
